Meet Our Therapist
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory Endorsement through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy Board.
I have earned my Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Cincinnati and my Bachelor Degree in Anthropology also from the University of Cincinnati. I have worked in the Community Mental Health setting which included completing emergency assessments and working in a partial hospitalization program working with severely mentally ill clients, helping clients transition into the community from an Independent Living program as well as community work. I have been in the School Based Therapy field for 5 years.
My approach to therapy within the school environment is a combination of collaborative, strengths-based perspective, using cognitive-behavioral, developmental and psycho-dynamic orientations, play therapy, solution focused therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques. With this approach and multiple therapeutic techniques, I provide individual and family focused therapy for those struggling with depression, relationship or life transitions, anxiety, behavioral problems, grief and stress management as well as managing trauma symptoms. As a school based counselor working with inner city children from Pre-K-7th grade, I also have worked with a trauma informed perspective working with children, families and teachers on understanding trauma. I am familiar with intergenerational and complex trauma, dealing with PTSD and Trauma and Stressor related disorders.
My primary focus in counseling is to create a safe and supportive environment to encourage emotional growth while providing services tailored to meet each client’s unique needs to facilitate healthy changes to help them thrive in all settings including school and home.
